Gloucestershire Cricket is one of 18 first class cricket counties.

The club required a modern, professional looking website with a strong emphasis on usability. The site had to look great and be simple and straight forward to use. It was vital visitors can easily find what they’re looking for and are encouraged to dig deeper.

Beyond this Gloucestershire cricket were looking to take full advantage of technology to deliver live and automatically updating content: Ball-by-ball coverage of games, as well as player and team statistics. Add to this online tickets, a shop, match reports, player blogs, twitter feeds, newsletter sign-up and the transfer of a huge amount of content for the old site. A complex project.

Webtrails worked with a number of colleagues to realise Gloucestershire Cricket’s vision. Smith and Milton helped with design, WP Dude with live cricket feeds and Apes at Work with mobile designs. Working closely with the client, Web Trails not only delivered on time and to budget but also managed to squeeze in website training, support on various other IT related issues and a few smiles besides.

Gloucestershire cricket are delighted with their website and Web Trails continues to provide technical support for the site and CMS support for website administrators.

A big thank you to Webtrails for breathing life onto our vision for the website. It was a big and complex project set against a challenging time frame. We are so pleased with the results. With such a big project, I expected at least a few hiccups along the way but the intuition, problem solving know-how and general can-do attitude made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I can’t recommend Web Trails too highly.

What prompted you to seek Web Trails’ services?
I needed a good new site that was too complex for me to work out alone.  I did not have the time to learn wordpress and do it myself,  and wanted someone who would bypass that stage but leave me with a site which I could edit myself.

Why did you specifically select Web Trails for this project?
You came with high recommendation from people who had been on your course.

What made you believe that Web Trails was the best for achieving your desired result?
You clearly knew your stuff from the way you taught on the course,  and I believe that someone who can teach their trade always has the capacity to speak in laypersons language and that was vital for me.

How did you benefit from working with Web Trails?
I got far more than I anticipated. Not only all the above but great eye for design and a real understanding of what I needed and was looking for.  And someone who kept me on track – in a gentle but firm way,  never nagging but always keeping me going with providing what I needed to give.  So what I ended up with was a working website,  looking beautiful and doing exactly what I needed it to do.

What exactly did Web Trails do to contribute to the outcome you wanted?
Mark really listened to my ideas and then delivered on it.  He understood the needs I had and understood the kind of feel that I was after.  How he managed that with some of the rather vague ideas which I brought to the table is magical!

What were the results of working with Web Trails?
A fab website that when it went live produced some amazing responses. People loved it and found it enticing and made them want to read more.

If a potential client was on the fence about whether to work with Web Trails or not, what would you say to them?
Call Mark and talk it through as a first approach.. I am sure that will be enough to make people take the next step in many instances!

BS7 Gym

BS7 Gym provides a high quality exercise facility for members of Bristol’s BS7 community.

The gym was looking for a clear, simple, well designed website that sells the benefits of membership and attracts people to make the next step and visit BS7 Gym or get in contact.

BS7 Gym required a fully featured, easy to use CMS (content management system) that allows website administrators to update all aspects of the website instantly. They also had a number of other requirements including:

  • A newsletter sign up page that feeds directly into the Gym’s CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
  • The ability to integrate EZ Runner software. EZ Runner allows members to log in and book classes, book taster session, manage membership etc.
  • A health blog
  • A site that looked good on mobile and tablet sized screens. 20% of visits are from mobiles and this figure is expected to grow.

Webtrails teamed up with Smith and Milton to deliver a stylish, modern design that highlights key messages and provides clear calls to actions. The rest –  template development, CMS set up, importing content, third party software integration, testing and deployment – was done in-house.

Web Trails understood exactly where we were coming from and where we were headed.  They were professional, creative and a pleasure to work with. They even take great photos! More than happy to recommend them if you’re looking for a hassle-free way to re-design your website.

You are more than you think

Thank you Mark for producing such a great website for my new book in such a short time.

Mark’s attention to the small details was fabulous and he promptly applied all the changes we agreed. From engagement to completion was little over a week – quite an achievement for a website with so many features to it. Mark has a very engaging manner and is a delight to work with. He is creative as well as pragmatic and through these qualities he was able to take my ideas and create a really super website that I am very pleased with.

Alpha Portfolio Management

Alpha Portfolio Management is an exciting new venture and we were looking for a talented web design agency to turn our brand guidelines into a website that reflects the passion we have for our business. Web Trails were a pleasure to work with. The transition from design to finished website seemed effortless. They were so down to earth and easy to talk to. No techno babble. They worked closely with our branding experts and overcame a variety of hosting challenges to make sure the website met our requirements without compromise. The result is a website we love and it’s so easy to update ourselves. Even better, we’re getting great feedback.

The Football People

We were looking for a template based website for the Football People. Important deadlines were fast approaching and there just wasn’t enough time to do the day job, set up a new business and develop a website. Web Trails were brilliant. They took all the website stress away. They tracked down a fantastic template and customised it to our requirements. They laid out pages, found images and set up hosting. In fact they did everything and let us get on with what we’re good at. And yes, we hit the deadlines and are very proud of our website. Great job – Thank you.
